Manager, UI/UX Design

  • Lead a team of UX/UI designers, Design Technologists, and UX Writers across a diverse portfolio including web, commerce, mobile applications, e-mail, and airport applications (kiosk/seat back).
  • Developed design practice around agile and design thinking principles.
  • Lead design initiatives based on roadmaps considering viability, desirability, and feasibility.
  • Established and maintained WestJet’s design system “Arrival”.
  • Advanced team performance through a customized approach to individual growth.
  • Managed agency-supported initiatives with feedback and approvals.
  • Managed budgets, contracts, and procurement of resources.
  • Acted as a hiring manager for the team, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.

UX/UI Designer

  • Ideated and executed user-centric design solutions to drive business objectives and vision.
  • Supported company initiatives as an advocate and subject matter expert on design thinking and accessibility.
  • Delivered design for multiple products across the digital ecosystem including westjet.com, digital check-in, and vacation booking.
  • Optimized design outcomes through Adobe Target (A/B testing).
  • Received the 2017 Accessibil-it Award for Accessible Design (RGD In-house Design Awards).
